    .

I think that is something that happens in a world where all the agents are rational? Sure doesn't sound like this world to me.

Does this retail sales info include or exclude online sales?

Whenever I've looked at the two it usually indicates falling high street sales and rising online sales, with the two together often indicating an overall increase. In my humble opinion, it is this change in consumer spending that has had such a disastrous effect on the high street as much as the credit crunch. It certainly has in my case. As I hate shopping, I buy almost everything online :)

And I suppose you think that has nothing to do with falling house prices.

LOL...are you suggesting the banks are deciding my credit limit based on the value of my house?

People have been going into debt to keep spending. It's not sustainable, but funnily enough was promoted by the government.

    We need a new equilibrium.

As far as I am aware, in clothing/footwear it does.

I will have a look at Retail Week later on to see their take on it.
