Hiya, its come to the time again where my oven needs a really good deep down clean.
I hate using the chemical products that you have to wear gloves with, that nearly kill you from the smell and was wondering if anyone has any alternatives?
Non chemical eco friendly ones?
Thanks

This person recommends baking soda:

another site I read said to use the above method, but for the final clean up spray the soda with vinegar, let it fizz for a while, then remove. Not tried it myself though.0 -
Elbow-grease
Seriously - I cleaned my filthy oven over a period of several weeks using natural solutions, and now maintain it with a wipe of vinegar after each use.
I soaked the shelves in soda crystals in the bath to get the dirt off, and used aluminium scourers and water, bicarb paste, and e-cloths (all at different times) to get the rest of it clean. I probably wiped a layer of dirt off each time I went into the kitchen, and occasionally had a bit more of a scrub, but it worked. I recommend wiping it when it's hot, and also getting lots of steam going to loosen the dirt.

Elbow-grease,whats that ,wipe it over every time you use the oven then you wouldn`t need any harse chemicals, otherwise try bicarbonate of soda.0

I have not yet tried any of these:

The other alternative I have heard mentioned is a wallpaper stripper! I guess any good quality steam cleaner would do the same job. I have a little cheapo one and it's not powerful enough for the oven. To be honest oven cleaning is one of the few areas I still use killer chemicals on - Oven Pride because it works in one hit. Then layer tin foil or an oven lining sheet so you don't have to clean as often.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
