Glut of Bramley and eating apples

Options
We have two eating apple trees and a bramley apple tree which have fruited very heavily this year. Even after giving away to family and friends..we always have loads left over. I still have some left over from last year (frozen)
Any ideas what we can do with them...would be greatly appreciated.

Gosh they're early this year. They might be a bit under-ripe still. I think your best bet for the Bramleys is apple chutney. Google a recipe. Chutney will last forever, well a long time anyway we're still eating 2007 damson chutney.

The eating apples can be made into apple butter or cheese or jelly.

Or you could simply stew them all up with sugar to taste and make apple puree for the freezer- a lovely simple, elegant dessert. Add cinnamon or cloves ;)

OOOH I do hope this will happen in my area, just love to go to the car boot and buy a carrier bag full for 50p to a pound. It has been a great year for soft fruit and rhubarb but sadly I do not have the room for trees.

I made apple and ginger jam using both eating and cooking apples, both work really well and the recipe is here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1142097&highlight=apple+ginger+jam. Also made lovely mint jelly with the eating apples, only just opened the last jar and I made it in August last year so it keeps really well :)

I wish that I had the time to do a car boot, as we have so much.
Thinking of setting up a website for doing swopsies with like minded fruit/veg growers in the area.

Thankyou for the recipe, but I have oodles of jam as well...and hardly ever eat the stuff.
Would be very interested in a recipe for mint jelly though, made with eating apples.

I used this one http://www.cottagesmallholder.com/?p=63 and used eating apples. It produces a sweeter jelly but the herbs cut through it nicely

We used to have a neighbour who would leave apples in a box on his front wall with a 'please help yourself' sign - they used to disappear pretty quickly!

I've thought about doing this..but we live at the end of a cul de sac and don't get anybody passing by.
