Are canvas wardrobes any good?

When i moved to my new address two years ago, i had to dismantle every single wardrobe because my stair case wasn't big or wide enough to take them up whole. So i had to re assemble them once in their desired room.

Now i'm redorating the kids bedrooms and will need to dismantle the wardrobes again to get them out of the room because the bedroom starts where the stairs finish. This will no doubt finish the wardrobes off because they are more or less knackered as it is.

So what i was going to get this time are the canvas wardrobes. What i want to know is are they any good?

The canvas wardrobe I bought was rather flimsy and couldn't take much weight as the frame was a bit unsubstantial but was OK as a temporary measure. Maybe the one I bought was not the best quality, think it was from Argos. The cats however loved it as they could run up and down leaving claw marks and sit on the roof.

When i moved in to my first place i bought 2 canvas wardrobes and shelfing unit. 3 years on the wood was burned on the fire!!!
They were flimsy and became slanting very quickly......
as a temporary measure they were fine.

For the same price as a canvas wardobe - £40, i bought a brand new pine one on ebay! might be a thought!

Mine's great, sturdy and looks good. Has lasted years. I expect some are a bit flimsy, but if you search around you should be able to get a strong enough one.

    hi

I bought two canvas wardrobes from argos when i moved into my new house and they were sturdy enough and had plenty of storage room, so i would recommend them. :A
