Keep putting it off

I am halfway through filling in the forms for BR online - done all the easy bits and am putting off and putting off the hard questions - like what are your debts and how did you get into this mess.
I have a list of creditors online with Payplan but i have no idea of the timeline etc or why we took out what credit when - its all a bit of a blur.
I think it's because i know i'm not going to file until i come back from holiday (already booked way way before BR became the only answer) at the end of august so i know i have bags of time. That horrid knot of anxiety in my stomach just won't go away though!

Ok just realised how stupid i sound as i'm typing it - i have the list online at payplan so hardly difficult to list the debts! I am doing it now!
Just a quick question - both OH and I are going BR - do i put all debts on the list as we treat them as all joint although technically some are in his name and some in my name - or do you only put the ones in your name on your form?0 -
There is no harm in getting it prepared even if you haven't completed all of it in one go.
You are not the only one putting it off - I've just been offered a job and I am bricking it in case they do one last check and discover my less than pristine credit history.
Unfortunately I am behind with my rent although I have been paying off £75 in £100 Paypal withdrawal towards my rent - I tried to get my O/D increased this morning from £500 to £750, just to help tide me over.
It sounds daft but I still have the mad idea that once I have a regular salary that somehow miraculously I might be able to avoid BR.
My probationary period for my new job is 6months so I want to take that time to try and clear the rent debt (because I don't want to p off my landlord - not contacted me yet ) and get enough money to do the deed.
You know I have been trying to go bankrupt since 21st April - now I feel like it might have been last year LOL!0 -
I don't think anybody remembers every single reason for taking out credit - but we all remember two things 1. It was made available to us and 2. it seemed like a really good idea at the time.0

i know what you mean - you imagine you can avoid it - we started a DMP in Feb but it's not reducing any of the debts at all - is going to go on forever and ever. At least it got us used to living on a budget though. Am too scared to check the contract for my job - i work for a FSA regulated company although i am not in an regulated role so hoping i will be ok!0

Check it, look at it and ignore it - don't worry about it until you have had your holiday. I have come to the conclusion that spending sleepless nights worrying is not constructive for me.
But when I do feel on edge I set myself a time limit and think of all the worst things that can happen for 10 minutes and then stop - it takes a while to do it.
Anyway - I am sure you will be OK, you seem very organised with what you are doing.0 -
Fill it all in now, save it and then go off and enjoy your holiday!
Being stressed about it all isn't going to make the process any easier.
Then when you get back from hols you can go BR and bet debt free
Look down your nose at me and I thumb my nose back at you.

Thanks for the support
I dream of the day the judge says - that's it, you're bankrupt!
Going to be v difficult on holiday - i am going with my sister and don't really want her to know about this - will be a challenge to keep my big trap shut when we are having girly chats with the aid of a bottle of vino!
TBH I have trouble when i'm looking at the payplan list to remember who the debts were to let along when i took them out and what for! You apply to one company and then you owe MBNA or another one - or they sell it on0 -

Hi ya,
I found it just as daunting and I did mine & oh's. When you do your forms just put any debts in your own name then any joint ones. If oh is also going br then they do the same - their own & joint.
Good luck & enjoy that hols. I'm looking forward to one next yr!BSC 289A life lived in fear is a life not living!Proud to have dealt with my debts.0
