Hi,
Has anyone taken out a mortgage with A&L recently? They seem to have the best rates for what we need but our broker told us they are having problems at the moment and that its taking ages for mortgages to go through with them. Any ideas on timing? I'm reluctant to get a survey done and start paying for stuff before they value it just in case its not worth what we have offered
Thanks

I'm just about to leave A&L as they have shown no interest in keeping me as a customer - the rate they offered when my current deal expires was ridiculous - so I am moving to a mortgage with the Co Op.
The Co Op do not deal with brokers so I was lucky to find their rates, it may be worth looking there for a comparison.0 -
Make sure before going with A&L that you shop around and they are the best.
I'm stuck with them now as (according to them) my LTV is 90%, which I disagree as I made improvements in the house and hasn´t lost so much value as they say because of the crunch!
I'm on their SVR of 4.99% and today I have been offered to fix it for 1.5 years (or 5.49% for 2.5 years; or 5.99% for 3.5 years).
Still thinking about it...£111k (90% LTV) - 25 years - 4.99% (A&L SVR).Considering moving to a 1.5 year fixed of 4.99% (no fee)

I did read an article yesterday that the scored very well in a customer service survey of all the big banks, but you cant please everybody all of the time.Mortgage - £37k
Credit Card (A&L) -[STRIKE] £2300 -[/STRIKE] £1200
Santander Credit Card - [STRIKE]£1400[/STRIKE] £1100
[STRIKE]OD - A&L - £1300[/STRIKE] GONE!!!
