YUK! Not my cup of tea but my OH would love it. I suppose it is a great alternative if you don't have a sweet tooth.

Linda - I spoke to some caterers before I got dis-enchanted with my venue. They all wanted to put Yarg in my medieval banquet

We're planning on having one of these alongside a proper wedding cake. My parents live in France and we're hoping to have our wedding their and just thought it'd be really funny as people asssociate nice cheese with France anyway. Although OH messing about asked could it be 'iced' with primula :rotfl:

Go have a look at wedding forums where the brides aren't so MSE and they're paying hundreds and hundreds for these!!!

We're having one of these!!! We've been to a lovely little cheese shop in Haworth & we're going back in Feb to order! I don't really like cakes & don't like cake fillings! Especially don't like dead fruit in cake! However my partners Mum is making a fruit cake to go with the cheese (a bit of a Yorkshire thing?) We wanted something we would enjoy & was a little quirky - like us!!!

It'll cost about £150 for 70-80 guests, which I think is pretty good value!

A wedding cake of cake is MY idea of Hell! Were having a cheese wedding cake and I can't wait, we both love cheese. To shut up the moaners who say why cant we have cake were also having a parkin wedding cake (5th Nov wedding) on the side but the main cake that we cut will be the cheese one. joolesw1973 - Do you have details of the shop in Howarth? Do you know if they will set up for you? (were Yorkshire too) Were currently planning on using the cheese board in Harrogate but the more quotes the merrier

Yes, it is a Yorkshire thing. Cheese with fruit cake, much like Yorkshire pudding with treacle!!!!
My son wanted a cheescake for his 18th birthday. Not cheese as in the block stuff but cheese as in the pudding. I made it in 3 tiers and then drizzled chocolate over the top. Scrummy. Had to put little dowels in each layer to stop the tiers sinking into each other!!
