I have twice burned dinner in my pan, it is now black on the inside.
They're nothing else wrong with it apart from the discolouration. I have their 'pots and pans cleaner' which is a fancy scouring cream, but it's not getting it back to new.
Any ideas?

Its happened to me dozens fo times - usually Jif or a cream cleaner sorts out the problem. Another idea is to soak using BIO washing powder. You can carry on using it and the discoloration may come out in time.0

Put some washing powder and water and leave it on the lowest heat overnight. I saved a much loved pan doing that.0

When I burned the lamb casserole in it the other day I put it bck on the gas top, with soap powder and water in it, and it did help remove / lift the burnt food. It's just such a shame as it; doesn't look so nice now.
I think I will try harder with the 'special' cleaner for them, and be hopeful.

I did this with my Le Creuset pans: they go that horrible browny-beige colour, don't they?
Ariel and hot water got everything off; then a slosh of Tesco's value bleach and hot water overnight got it back to its original colour; then a cycle in the dishwasher got rid of the bleach. And I bleached my dishcloth at the same time!!!
Don't use my Le Creuset so much now because a) they're so heavy and b) food burns onto them ALL THE TIME!!!0 -
Thanks for that, I never thought of bleaching it, possibly because I don't have any bleach, but I'll add it to my shopping list!
I agree that they are heavy and the fact that the handles get hot is a pain, but I don't burn things that often. I turn the gas down very soon after lighting it and then I just adjust as I go along.

You could try scouring them out with lots of salt and a little oil using a dry cloth or wad of kitchen roll. I've done that to rescue non-stick pans that had carbonised food thoroughly welded on.0

I burnt one of my stainless steel pans the other day, porridge in the morning. Anyway I tried various things and it wasn't going to shift. So in the end I got a bit of silver foil and scrunched it up into a ball. With a fair bit of elbow grease got it back sparkling again. Fill your Le Creuset with cola and leave it for a few days and it will be fine. I burn mine regularly and always manage to resue it :T0

If food is bruning on your Le Creuset pans its because you are using them on too high a heat setting, you should put the pan on a MEDUIM SETTING WHEN YOU FIRST START COOKING IN THE PAN AND THEN TURN IT DOWN TO THE LOWEST SETTING ON YOUR COOKER FOR THE REST OF THE TIME, the pans are cast iron and therefore retain heat very efficiently, if you read the instructions when you first get the pan you will see this is what they tell you to do.......
If I burn a pan I fill it with water with soap powder in, put it on the stove and heat gently to boiling point, turn off the heat and leave it until the morning, most of the stuff will have saoked off, any stubborn bits can be removed with a NYLON scourer, do not use a wire pad such as brillo this will scratch the enamel surface of the pan and ruin it, you can however use a wire pad on the outise of the pan to get burnt on stuff off, but do not scrub too hard or again you will remove the enamel.
I have had Le Creuset pans for years, and they are as good as new, I recently sold a casserole on e bay I had for 20 years and it was gleamiing inside..........they need to be treated properly, they are very heavy, but great pans.
