Family Birth - Flowers?

Hi, one of my relatives has just had a little baby and we have gifts for the baby and for Mum along with a card for when we see them.
I was just wondering if people also send flowers aswell, and if so which type are suitable for births and who best online to purchase them from.. I am having them delivered if I get some..
Don't know an awful lot about flowers but know she likes Roses...

I think flowers would be appreciated - I don't think there is an etiquette but I would avoid anything that had a strong smell (lillies) - you could have pink / blues/lilacs depending on the sex or yellow as a neutral choice
there's loads of online choice - in the past I have used Next, M + S, Tesco and a company called clareflorist0 -
Some people do send flowers but as a mum who has had 3 childrena nd another on the way the house soon fills up with flowers and i soon ran out of vases and couldnt move for flowers.
If you already have gifts for both mum and baby (very generous of you) i would suggest that you could give the flowers a miss as you have already bought enough, more than enough. You could always get the new mum some flowers in a few weeks when everyone elses have withered away. This way you still get her some flowers but the flowers will last longer iykwim.
Or you could perhaps get a very nice potted plant or orchid - or something similar - that will last a lot longer too and doesnt need anyone to hunt down a vase.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
Thank you, great ideas appreciated..
I got some baby clothes, boots weaning spoons and sterillising tablets, big box of nappies etc and smellies and pampering gifts for the new mum
Will get flowers in a few weeks and I like the plant idea too...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
