    Yes Nat West will close your account once they know you are BR. There has been the odd person who has slipped through the net and not lost their account but it is not guarranteed.

    Switch all your essential DD's to your new account utilities, mortgage/rent, council tax.

    It's up to you whether you want to do token payments but if you are going BR in a month or two is it really worth it?

    what would they say to me as never missed a payment ever ,also i got a debt of 300 with barclays finace so cant do barclays as they are one of my non priorty debts

    Well give Co-op a ring and open an account. You will be able put money into your account through the post office if you don't have a Co-op nearby

    The companies will start sending letters and phoning you and threatening all sorts but there is little they can do in1 or 2 months. I had one firm chasing me for 6 years and it never went more than threatening and I am just about to send them the statute barred letter and tell them to foxtrot oscar.

    I just realised I got some shares with tesco,there in a scheme where I buy them ,but wont mature for a cpl more yrs, will this effect my br .Will they have to know about them only a cpl k in value at the end

    You will have to declare them I am afraid and the OR will want them to go into your BR. Sorry.

    thanks , will have to have a think but I feel that cpl k loss is no big deal compared to a 27 k debt .
