What is "Harry's got a Horse"? Thta's my name. Harry, not Horse. Although..... no, we won't go there.
Yes we will- it's perfectly suitable.
If you 'google' for the lyrics to Max Boyce's song 'Hymns & Arias' you will find out what the boys did when they were taken short at Twickenham.
The song continues:
Wales defeated England in a fast and open game.
We sang 'Cwm Rhondda' and 'Delilah',
damn, they sounded both the same.
We sympathised with an Englishman
whose team was doomed to fail
So we gave him that old bottle, that once held bitter ale!
He started singing hymns and arias,
'Land of my Fathers', 'Ar hyd y nos'.
In live performances Max used to sing (& probably still does) "And Harry's got an 'orse" in an upper class English accent, reflecting the effects of the bottle's contents on the non-welsh speaking drinker.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
I found this a while ago and it's a high quality course with 25 (yes 25!) free MP3 lessons. I know that not everyone wants to learn Welsh, but if you fancy something different, live and work in Wales or just want to learn for your hols this is a pretty good site to go to - (it's nothing to do with me)
Also there's a great forum with free support, nothing negative etc. Really good to see people supporting one of Britain's oldest languages! :j
Say Something in Welsh - The people that started it off have just won an award too

This is brilliant! We regularly holiday in South Wales, but have plans to invade the North & it will be great to be able to shop in the markets using speech rather than gesture & apologetic grin. :A
A website & forum to practice in too!0
