I did not think tax credits were affected by maintenance (although I believe they used to be). Are they saying that you're tax credits would have been reduced had you been getting the maintenance? but they were not so you were no better/worse off?
On income support you used to be able to keep £10 before it affected benefits, this is now £200 -
they were trying to say because im on working tax credits i recieve nil payment from them it goes straight to the state. they havent assessed me by saying i recieve working tax credits so you will recieve only this amount of tax credits and the rest to the state i only recieve £10 working tax per week the rest is bout 88 child tax. that doesnt make much sense reading this back but hope you get the picture.0

To my knowledge if your claiming wtc and ctc, your maintenance should not be affected, maintenance is extra salary that is tax free. It only goes to the state if your on income support, job seekers allowance.
I would get back in touch with the csa and ask them to put in writting the reason why your child was denied the maintenance that your ex had paid to the csa, who are then supose to forward onto you.0 -
