Well nobody seems to like the cheaper versions of Weetabix and I usually buy the "proper" Shreddies.

Although I do buy Tescos Choco snaps instead of Coco pops, Tescos frosted flakes instead of Frosties. I also get Asda's Strawberry crisp instead of the more expensive Jordan's one.

Thank you all - will try the Tesco cornflakes next time.

Normally my lot aren't influenced by packaging, in fact they're actually fairly well on board as far as trying these new ones out goes. The brands we're on at the moment are the ones that have won taste tests over the past months - but if I've missed one (that's not Tesco, Sainsburys etc) that might be preferred, then I, and they, have got no problem giving it a go.

MrsBartolozzi - true, TBH I didn't think of Cheerios as sweetened cereal. We did a quick comparison this morning of the Mr T ones against some Shreddies we have and the sugars were significantly higher - I'll take another look compared to 'proper' Cheerios, although as we are also working on removing a lot of coated cereals at the same time as downshifting, maybe I'll just take them off the list all together.

Re the Shreddies, you do have to remember that while they will have less sugar per 100g, there's more weight in a bowl of shreddies than in cheerios and therefore around the same amount of sugar 12-13g (off the top of my head as I read the details this morning) in a normal bowlful.
I know my Oh was shocked that there's as much sugar in a bowl of shreddies as a bowl of Frosties - he always thought he was being more virtuous than me;)!

    It's only a game

Keep an eye out if 99p stores for Jordans Meusli, it was also on at half price in sains recently/ still? I always have this, particularly like the berry one and tropical they are ALWAYS in our 99p store. But a few when i see them.

We buy waitroses own weetabix honestly, I cant tell the difference between the real thing and the supermarkets ones but we did have the lidl ones once and they were like cardboard!

Lidl's Luxury muesli is good, about £1.69 I think a pack and sometimes pops up on special of £0.99. I always add extra porrige oats which you can pick up cheap pretty much anywhere which makes it last longer :)

Mr. Fire Fox has just complained that I bought Asda bitesize 'Shredded Wheat' and then tasted to admit they are the same as branded ones. :T The box of Asda mini banana 'Weetabix' from a month ago remains unopened.
