credit history help please?

I recently applied for a 0% CC to transfer the balance from my 3 store cards onto (all 29.9%) thinking i would be better off doing that.
Anyway it was declined. I know my credit history was bad, back when i was 18/19 but i'm 22 now, and thought it would have improved a bit.
Just wondering how i can see my credit history...without paying. I have already done the 30 day trial with credit expert, and when i log on it wants to charge me £6.99...which is £6.99 i don't have.
Anywhere else i can see it?
I'm sure i used a different website before once, but can't remember it now

Hi,
Bad credit history - defaults and the like - stay on your credit report for 6 years.
You can see your credit reports for free with both creditexpert (experian) and equifax. both of them offer 1 month free trials of their services.
EDIT: sorry, just re-read your post & noticed that you already used your 30 day trial with credit expert. Try using the equifax trial. In need of a new signature! :rotfl:0 -
Thanks i got on to Equifax to check it...few questions though

I think the above explains why they declined you for a 0% card- lots of missed/late payments and if you have had 3 searches in the last 6 months I would recommend not applying for any more credit for a while.
Having read your other posts and seen your SOA it look like your only option is to either get more hours at work or get a better job. I only got the minimum student loan through university, didn't get any help from my parents so I worked almost full time, waitressing most evenings and weekends to pay for studying. Its tough, and really hard to balance work/study/social life but better than being in all that debt.
I imagine that once you are through with college/uni you will want to get a job, and then think about buying a house in the future. If you don't get debt sorted out now, it will be a MAJOR issue in the future.
AND- the more time you are at work, the less time you have for shopping...:rotfl:Debt free as of 2 October 2009
Mortgage free as of 27 March 20240 -
I believe you can see your file for free (once a year) via annual credit check (can't remember the web address) just google it.0

Its also worth remembering you can get postal report for just £2 each for each of the 3 agencies whenever you want.
Once you have used the free trials its better to request a postal one maybe once a year rather than pay £6.99 a month.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
It's definitely because of missed payments, especially as some are very recent, and some you missed very regularly.
Also, if you missed a payment on a 0% card, the 0% would not be valid anymore and you would revert back to a high rate, which is probably not that different than the current store card APR's.
Do you pay your bills by direct debit? I would advise that you do this to avoid late payments. Just make sure the money is available!!!!Vanquis- Limit £1250, balance £0
Capital One Classic- Limit £800, balance £0
Natwest Current Account- £800 OD limit, approx £600 OD
Loan- £3300, will be paid off by Dec 09
Student Loan- paid off Dec 09 (That's £150 a month extra! Woohoo)
Empire Catalogue Account- £750 limit, balance £300 -
thanks everyone. No i don't pay anything by direct debit, as my wages come in on a different day everymonth, and i'm scared they will try to take the money, when there is nothing in my bank...making it over it's overdraft limit and giving me more charges.0

Different day ? or different date .........different day is normal and doesnt affect paying by dd because the dd will always come out on the same date ( unless weekend ) .
You need to do a cashflow forecast and only spend what you have after all the bills have been paidVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0
