8 yr old Nephew coming to stay - activities/craft/quiz things to do?

Hello,
My 8 year old nephew is coming to stay for the rest of half term and I've been trying to think of things I can plan that won't cost a lot of money. Where I live there isn't a lot to do and he's quite a crafty person so I'm trying to think of a general knowledge quiz I could do or indoor activities. He loves making handmade cards etc, sketching, anything arty really. I'd appreciate any ideas, Thanks.

Hiya,
Heres some bits I do with my 8 year old nephew when he comes to stay.
On the disney uk website there is an activity page where you can print off loads of pictures for colouring. This remains his favourite activity and he would happily colour all day if I let him.
He likes to bake as well, simple little cupcakes or similar that he can decorate or rice crispy cakes.
We pop our own popcorn and watch a movie together on TV or dvd/video his choice.
Dig out your old board games, he loves connect 4, frustration, ludo and guess who.
In the summer we like to go to a local farm that has animals to feed and see, take a picninc and I can chill while he plays in the play area. £3 I think.
Local museum is free, havent tried that yet tho.
Most of these are free or very cheap and its nice as they are things we can do together rather than just leave him in front of the tv or playstation.
Did I mention he beats me on the playstation as well?Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
You could make up some salt dough and he could make a name plaque for his bedroom door.My daughter did this and still has hers although its falling to pieces now(years later).
Get a book from the library and make sweets.

Ooh Culpepper just reminded me. Have a look in your local Poundland or equivalant. Mine does the odd activity/craft set including a plaster of paris name plate with paints, sun catchers and similar. Not too bad for a quid.Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000

swimming is fun. Just taken my neice 7. She loved it. Also now the weather is a bit nice, find a really good park near you. He'll love that.0

Make washballs? Grate up very finely(with your help) a bar of plain unfragranced soap, then mix in a few pinches of skin safe herbs (open up a chamomile teabag for example) then add a sprinkling of boiled and cooled water (or rosewater if you have it to hand), squidge it into soap playdough, and let him model speaciality soaps to take home as a present. They need to dry for several days after making before use, and remember that all soap is drying if handled for ages so you need to wash and moistureise hands well afterwards. If he likes brighter things, just grate two bars of different coloured soap and make two shades of soap dough and he can model those instead.
Dump him straight in the bath afterwards and he'll have soapy enough hands to wash all of him!0
