Making a shade for a floor standing lamp?

Options
I have the following lamp:

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20099670

but the shade was torn when we moved house so it is shadeless. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could easily make a new one, I was thinking of fabric as it may be more durable, I have a sewing machine.

It doesn't have to be a replica of what was there before. There is nothing wrong with the base so it seems a waste to buy a new one.

Many thanks!
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o
