I've just been looking at the Canaries.(Getting married next October)

Found flights to all of them for the day after the wedding, for between £300 and £400 for the 2 of us which is great! Accom will be SC and probably no more than £200.

Gonna print some prices off and go to First Choice on Saturday, see if they can beat or match. (we can pay a deposit with them, can't afford it all right now as we're trying to pay off 3K for our family holiday next year too, along with saving for the wedding, eeek!)

Now just to choose which Island to go to! :)

Our planned holiday to Spain which my elderly father decided he wanted to book for everyone (his kids and grandkids) has turned into our wedding (in Gibraltar) so flights and apartment paid for plus a helping hand toward the car hire. Only costs will be spending once we get there and the wedding of course :D

After buying our house and the cost of the wedding we had to go for a last minute deal and luckily friend was TA at the time.

We paid £222 (total for 2 of us) for 11 nights in Majorca, allocated on arrival. We ended up in 4* aparthotel, overlooking the pool and it was fab. Mind you it was 23 years ago :D

:rotfl: It was cheap even then. We normally allowed £200 each per holiday and that would be booked a week or so before going as holidays really were cheaper last minute then.

I'm a bit sad and have been checking the price of our summer holiday this year since I booked a few months ago. It's now £600 more for the 3 of us than when we booked.

  • We're leaving ours until the last minute, although we're looking at going to Mauritius. Looking at prices for the end of this August and then the end of next, we can save around £1000-1500 on exactly the same holidays. I like the fact we wont know where we're going until nearer the time, it also means its one less thing to worry about paying for over the year. It means whatver money we have left will determine where we go!

  • £1k for a forntight in a beuatiful luxury cottage on the isle of skye and car hire.
And a ridiculous amount of spending money to eat delicious food and wine and taxi around the island
  • Ours is around £400 for a lovely cottage near Stratford upon Avon for a week (and then a week off at home to do what we like) and our date is 11th Sept 09

looking at Hilton resort in Mauritius with mark warner as I get 40% off being a Pru health member. That would bring price to approx. £2100 for just two of us incl. BA/air mauritius flights on half board and water sports plus tennis, transfers included. This is for next April for 7 nights but most likely will increase to stay for 10..
