Peugeot key coding in NI

Mum has a Peugeot 206 and we have recently found out that the spare key will not start it.

It would appear that this key has lost it's code or possibly never had a code, it is the original spare key not a copied one.

Anyway I have tried 2 locksmiths, 1 in Ards and Havlins in Bangor and they cannot do it. A Peugeot dealer will for £30 plus VAT (if we have a wee card with a code on it or it will be another £20)

Is there anywhere else we could have this done in NI at a less extortionate rate?

BTW the car is 5 year old so warranty is out.

TIA
Dave

It would appear from the OP that they have and they'll do it for £30 or £50 if they don't have a code slip.

Unfortunately I don't have any experience of this so can't offer any suggestions. :( Maybe it would be worthwhile taking a look on the Motoring board as more people might see your posts? I appreciate they wouldn't all be from NI though...

I've an idea that Marlowe Cleaners, the key-cutting/shoe repair/dry cleaning place at Forestside (beside the Northern bank - outside shops) might do it. I seem to recall seeing a sign in their window about key coding. Worth a try.
  • I ask questions like that on the renault forum, there must be a peugeot one - they are brill!Just google it...
