from china?! LOL! i find it funny because this morning i was chatting to their "rep" called Chris on live chat (it's always the same peson who is online- i found it strange...). Anyway, asked him (her) if my item was dispatched as 48 hrs later i still havent received a tracking number! They told me that i'd recieve the dispatch note in 2-4 days (???). And then i asked them where they were based and even suggested it was China :-) Needless to say they never answered my question...Yes, i've also taken into account the weekend...I still cant believe i was so stupid, it happened to me before when i bought a Christian Dior bag online for a 100£, what an idiot :-) Of course it was written fake all over it even though the seller was swearing that it was authentic...
Anyway, is it even legal, this thing that they do - selling stuff that it fake but claiming on their website that it's authentic??

I bought 3 last week for teacher's collections I was in charge of. They were photographed with the L o L gift bag, ribbon, box and care card. Luckily, I have a Links of London (genuine one) and at first they looked perfect til I compared them to mine. weight is different. The L o L labelled link is rectangular with no bevelled edge and the punched letters are slightly wider. The cheaper charms have different links to the original!!!! Each link has an obvious join whereas mine are perfect. Ebay have refunded two of them so far as one did come via china although it said it was coming from China still waiting the other one. They were very swift and said they wouldn't even bother with paypal resolution centre in this case. The bag and gift boxes were near perfect but slight different colour, the black strap was cheap and cheerful and the care card was blurred cos badly lasered. Please beware they may look ok but people with genuine ones will know straight away that yours are fakes!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't lead me into temptation I can find it myself! DFW LBM 03/11/08
  • I logged a dispute with Paypal last night and after 3 declines from the company for a refund, they've actually returned the money today - this was after I told them that the company was listed as a counterfit company on the Links of London authentic website. Anyway, the goods also arrived this evening..and they're not great copies at all. The boxes are very cheap looking and the items don't look like real silver at all. I'm sure my 5 year old niece will have fun playing with them lol, but defo wouldn't advise anyone to go near this company!!
Thanks for all your replies - hopefully, I'll not be taken in so easily next time!!

I also logged a dispute last night. Today, i got a message from the shop:
    Dear customer:
we can refund money to you and you need not return the order to us. (you can saving the return shipping fee)
But can you reduce some refund amount? (we take the cost of item(s) and the shipping fee)

cheeky!!! I said i want a full refund!!! I cant beleive they suggested it...
  • I personally check where the domain name owner lives e.g. who bought the domain before buying on sites like this. If they are not in the UK I stay well clear as you don't have the same protection I don't think. I recently bought an 'authentic' bracelet off e-bay which turned out not to be and paypal paid me back but as this site has some small print not sure if you would get a refund :-(

    Hopefully i'll get a refund, that's what the seller told me...In 48 hrs...Fingers crossed...
  • Mine went straight through - god knows what my husband said to them!!! He said that they did decline about 3 times but then agreed...think you'll be ok

I got my refund too. They declined the first time but I threatened them, LOL!
No, really, i said to them that it was not on, that i was buying what i thought would be an authentic item and they sell fakes etc etc. Then they offered me a partial refund (!!!) and I told them "they must be joking!" After that, they refunded me in full. I have to say, they're very polite in their emails, always say "have a good day" etc which i find just irritating, LOL :-)

I ordered mine for my daughters 18th (she wont wear fake)from linkslondonsale.com claim 100% authentic thought I was on the official linksoflondon.com site. Anyway when it didnt come afer 5 working days I contacted them through the 24/7 help line. Only means of communication and spoke to Lucy. She offered to reduce cost which I declined and gave me a tracking number. When I tracked parcel with parcelforce and realised it was coming from China I knew it was going to be a fake. Went back to Lucy and demanded a full refund immediatly and told her I knew the goods were fake and was reporting it to customs and google and paypal. (My credit card company informed me that I should report them to paypal which I have done) In the end she would not reply to my chat and just kept telling me to wait a couple of days for the goods. She would not listen to my pleas that I didnt want them. On Sunday I spoke to Chris on the 24/7 help line. He told me to wait so I told him I already had the cheap ghastly fake jewellery and would be returning them Also threated with reporting to paypal (at this stage I didnt have any jewellery). After a few minutes waiting for a response he said they had refunded my account and not to worry about sending the jewellery back and just to keep it. I checked with paypal yesterday (Monday) and true to their word they have refunded my account. The fake jewellery arrived this morning and is quite a good copy, however in the meantime I went to swags in Watford and paid 4x the amount for a genuine links of london bracelett and charms. My daughter would not wear the fake. By the way on the customs declaration is says the parcel is worth $5 us dollars! £2.50 in our money. I think I would get more than that at a car boot sale for it. Also the paypal transaction is with a comapny listed as Brogame. The comapny on the cusotms declaration is Hanghou Fengding Trade Co Ltd, Zhanqiai Rd, Xiaoshan Hangzho U China. Hope this thread helps someone else. Just push for a full refund and report to paypal.
  • In comparison to the 'real' thing...would you say its a good copy?
My friend has looked at the site and as she has previously bought 'fake' jewellery before she is not bothered. Would you say its looks ok for the money, keeping in mind the cost compared to the actual authentic stuff!?
