Christmas craft fairs

Hey all, I've tried searching for this topic but couldn't find anything so I hope I'm not repeating. I know it's early but I was considering doing a Christmas Craft Fair this year and was thinking people could share some knowledge and tips. I'm quite a slow crafter so would probably start making things soon, but I was wondering what sells well and what doesn't, and what prices to put things at. Also, can you sell homemade food or do you need a permit to do so? I've jotted down a list of things I'd consider making, so far I have...
Decorations:

These birds with a loop of ribbon to hang them on the tree.

Something similar to this

These but with more Christmassy colours
Shabby chic hanging tree decorations made from scraps, letters spelling out things like Peace, Love and Noel. Can't find a picture of what I mean.
Felt gingerbread people tree decorations
Sock monkeys
Flannel reindeer
Flannel cupcakes
Sock pints
I saw on a website that someone made little fairy wands and they sold really well as little stocking fillers for girls.
Foody things:
Snowman soup
Mulled wine sachets
Mugs with choc, marshmallows etc
Retro sweetie jars
Cookie mix jars
HM fudge
HM chocolate mint crunch
What does everyone think? Is anyone else already planning their fairs?

I know, I was going to make some for my own tree this year but then thought other people might like them too. I ordered some fabric samples in lovely reds and purples so they should be really cheap to make, will just need the gold thread, stuffing and some buttons for the eyes.

Hiya, Im thinking of doing my first ever stall too and had wondered what sells well. Do you have a link to the wands? I was also wondering where you got the fabric samples from as i would love to have a go at doing some decorations for my grandparents for christmas, but have never sewn before so don't want a lot of expense if it doesnt work out, thanksClaire_Bear wrote: »I know, I was going to make some for my own tree this year but then thought other people might like them too. Hey, the place I found the wands didn't have any pictures but I was thinking of getting some garden canes or something similar, wrapping ribbon around them, putting a sparkly star on top and having lots of ribbons hanging down too. The samples I got today were from Malabar but then I went on Google and founds loads more, try searching 'free fabric sample' or 'free fabric swatches' or 'free curtain fabric', theres tons of sites that let you pick between 5 and 10 samples in loads of different colours and materials and patterns :j
Do you have any idea what other things you'd put on your stall? I'm always up for a bit of idea stealing sharing :rotfl:
