Argos have what looks to be the same product but at £249.99!!!

Although the ebuyer one is described as a 'lite' version whatever that means.

    Cheers,

Could it be that it is supplied with 'In-car charger' ONLY?

It is still a bargain though. I'm after a PDA aswell, I wanted a £125 HP iPAQ from Argos a way back...

Looks good. As for the difference between the lite and non-lite - this comment was posted on ebuyer -
    (1) The devices appear to be exactly the same hardware
    (2) The Lite version is not supplied with an AC adaptor, so when you get it home you can`t charge it - unless you sit in the car! A standard 5v adaptor might do the trick (I used my Creative Zen Sleek charger). Chargers are about £5 on Ebay, or you can by a hot sync USB cable that charges and syncs. Also the Lite isn`t supplied with a flimsy 99p vinyl case!
    (3) The Lite version is a few months newer, so is supplied with Windows Mobile 2003 second edition (SE), which comes with Media Player 10, and screen orientation (Landscape <-> Portrait). The n35 comes with Windows Mobile 2003 Premium which comes with a couple of other things (that you should be able to download). In any case you can upgrade to SE at the acer ftp site:
    ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/handheld/n35/osimage/

Follow the instructions for the n30, which are here:
    ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/handheld/n30/osimage/

    (3) The biggest difference is in the Sat Nav software. The n35 comes with Destinator 3 (now superceded by Destinator PN), and the n35 Lite comes with Destinator Lite. As far as I can see, you can`t add points of interest (such as speed cameras) to the Lite version. You can upgrade but it isn`t cheap!
  • I knew someone would be able to locate it easier than me.

    Yes, it can have WiFi.

You will need a SDIO WiFi adapter which fits in the SDIO socket. This would mean that you will not be able to use an SD memory card or GPS when you are using WiFi.

Something like this would work. http://www.shinyhardware.co.uk/products/product.asp/pid=212

    this really looks good.

got a few questions does it come with all backup cd's?

also this seems a great price but is it worth buying second hand off ebay with a pda that has a higher mhz rating?

The Acer has GPS built in.
If you buy a PDA from Ebay you would still need a GPS receiver.

Also you take a chance that a used model is working properly.

I have to Acer N35 lite, I did use the Destinator Lite that came with it. It got me there!!

However, a mate at work bought TomTom compatible software from Ebay, loaded it onto another SD card, and works well. Got POI from website, great stuff.

    Works well, reccommended!

Have one of these, it is great!
Wouldn't worry too much about processor speed, seems to handle whatever you throw at it within reason.
Feels a bit flimsy but has been dropped a few times and works fine.
