I tried to install a CD disk on my lap top today but can't get the tray at the side to slide out. Never done this before
Wanted to install my printer and have to do that using disk instructions so I'm stuck !
Any suggestions ?

Hi
There is usually a very small button in the middle of the CD Tray, push on that.
Or go to windows explorer, (maybe START>Computer), right click on the CD icon and then click on eject.
On a MAC you have to drag the CD icon on the desktop to the trash
Or if you can't get it to come out, let me know the make and model of the printer and I'll give you the link to download the drivers.
Andrew Rimmer 2009If you think it will take more than 3 hours to fix a software problem it is probably quicker to reinstall windows. 30 mins to install windows, 2½ hours to reinstall all your nice software0 -
Thanks. Tried both those and it's still stuck.
Printer is Epsom SX200.
Only bought both items a few weeks back.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

You can get the necessary drivers etc. here to install your printer until you sort out the CD drive problem. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Thanks. Done that and at least printer made a noise now so somethings happening.
Never done these sort of downloads before.........should there be a file of some sort in Documents ? There's nothing thereI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

You click on Direct Download, Save File and then choose a directory to save the file in e.g. create a folder called Epson. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Thanks..............something seems to be connected..........all I have to do now is master how to get the paper in far enough for the printer to find it !
Beginning to wish I'd not bought this one.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Assuming that the CD/DVD drive is not defective. You should see a small hole 1 mm in middle of CD/DVD drive cover. Take a straightened paper clip or similar, insert into this hole gently at 90 degrees. With a little pressure ,the drive cover will unlatch and open.0

Epsom help line very good but now just told me to clean nozzles on ink cartridges...............honestly I'm beginning to feel like sending the whole lot back -all brand new a few weeks back and now all these problems...........

I spose there is actually a CD drive behind the cover?.
Usually the drive is fixed right onto the cover.
Seems odd it should be detached.0
