For the recipies and advice you need to check out the old style board, They are really good at advising on cheap healthy meals.

My quick tips Fruit & Veg are usually cheaper from a market than a supermarket. Or check out places like Aldi for their 6 for 49p offers (6 different fruit & veg items each month all costing just 49p)http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/product_range/4862.htm

If you buy what is in season you'll always spend less than having to buy goods imported from around the world.

Meat is usually cheaper from a butchers (rather than a supermarket) and much more appetising.

Home made soup is great for using up old veg out the fridge rather than binning them.
A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give

  • that looks great, certainly better than tesco. it appears we have a store about 3miles closer than tesco aswell so that will be a bit cheaper on car juice alone :D i love it here, to be honest before i registered i thought id take the advice and run but im defo gonna be stickin around, there is an overwhelming amount of knowledge on here and it seems no matter what your issue is, someone can help you. im sure one day there will be someone else like me pop up on here and i can help them in the same way you have helped me. you know the postman came around half hour ago and guess what i got, another demand from lowell, and for the first time in weeks i put the letter on my kitchen side instead of tossing it there and i had a little smile to myself :D
