How do you know you are discharged?

Hi all

I have read about early discharge. My partners BR was pretty straightforward in the end and and I am wondering how we will know if he is granted early discharge. Will we get a letter, or is there a register we should be checking periodically? If he doesn't get early discharge, again will we get a letter or should we be checking somewhere then?

Thanks

You dont always get a letter........I checked the insolvency service website & found out there first....I received a letter from the OR 2 months after i'd read about the discharge on the site

    try looking here

    http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir/

if he's not listed as having an early discharge....he'll be auto discharged from bankruptcy 12mnths from the date he went to court anyhow..again though your not always guaranteed the OR will write to you as I've known a fair few people here never received word from their OR's about discharge

you would normally get an IPOQ form and then (earliest) 56 days later you COULD be discharged

have you had the IPOQ form?

I dont think there is set rules,
I did not receive a IPOQ just got the letter stating I was granted ED.
The insolvency site did not show we were discharged until 11 days after our ED date.
Like phil says, some have ED and dont know about it......

I they feel that there is no prospect of an IPA then they sometimes skip the IPOQ. Most commonly if your only income is benefits and no change is likely.
