    Here you go :
    Potato Crust

    8 oz - 225g potatoes (mashed)
    4oz -110g plain flour
    2oz - 55g chilled butter(cubed)
    ½ tsp salt

Rub fat into the flour and salt until it looks like breadcrumbs
Add the potatoes and mix until it comes into a ball of dough

There you have it potato pastry HTH x

It was a wartime favourite because it needs less fat than ordinary pastry. Use for pasties and pies and also sweet pies (add a bit of sugar to the pastry).

My mum used to do a sort of baked roll thing with potato pastry.

If I remember rightly it can be a bit trickier to roll out as it can crack.

From memory, she rolled the potato pastry into a rectangle and lay on a greased baking tray, lay a strip of sausage meat down the middle with a couple of whole hard-boiled eggs in the middle then folded the pastry round it, so It was a long roll shape, glazed and baked. Nice hot or cold.

It may have been a BeRo recipe. Sure it might have had a few other bits in ...finely chopped onion?? spoonful of sage and onion stuffing mix to soak up fat from the sausage meat???? bit of mustard?????Will ponder it! Usually when a thread like this jogs a memory from the past , after a litttle while, I remember more details!!!!!
