Chers, I want to learn French.
To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a Heaven in a wild flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
    And Eternity in an hour.

  • Is this a safe site? My daughter is learning German at school and was thinking of this to give her a little extra help.

http://www.languagesonline.org.uk/ is a great resource for French, German and Spanish. I've used it for all 3 and it's great for vocab and testing grammar.

The livemocha is an interactive site that does not require any downloading of software.

You register for courses and are given points for completion of modules and for the accuracy of your review. You also get points for grading and commenting on submissions from other people. You can also create flash cards to aid learning. Languages partners are suggested who are native speakers of the language you are learning and who are also learning your native language. You can accept or reject any requests for chats. You can view other people's points and submission.

So, it is interactive, keeps track of how you are progressing and you also learn how to teach others your language.

That's a great site. I have just signed up because I have been on about learning Greek for ages but never got round to sorting anything out. Hopefully i'll use this.
