Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 26th July

  • Hello,

I went into town in my lunch break today and spent £3 on some sticky tape and a cheapy (but pretty) bracelet.

Not only that, I returned half the stuff I bought at the weekend! When I got it home I realised it didn't fit or wasn't as lovely as I'd thought. Thats in a seperate budget tho, so doesn't count for uplanned spends.

    Evening all,

My only spends today were 69p on a melon and 59p on a tin of pineapple to go with gammon for tonight but these come out of the food budget.

Things were going well today until the plumber came to find out why the kitchen sink is draining slowly and decided our pipes are rubbish and we need to redo the whole lot which I am not too pleased about as I have to conjure up the cash from somewhere

  • Well, after my good intentions on yesterdays post i've actually blown the budget already as managed to spend £6.16 out of the £5.00 i had left in my purse!!! In fairness, I found £1.50 in my bedroom so put it with the £5.00 and used it to top up on badly needed groceries to eek out my food cupboards until friday when i get paid.

I literally have nothing left to spend now (unless cashpoints allow you to withdraw 32p from them, which is all my bank account has left, lol) except the change from my £6.50 - 34p - not even enough to buy a blooming chocolate bar.

Roll on friday payday, got a tesco shop coming this weekend and want to start moving some money around and making the debt payments for the month.

Well, I cracked the chocolate problem - I remembered that my local co-op sells Freddy Frogs and they are only 15p each. Got to the till with my pathetic 34p and two frogs, only to be told they are actually on offer and you get 4 for 30p - woohoo.

3 are now sat chilling in my fridge for the rest of the week, and 1 is nicely nestled in my belly :D. Should stop the huge choccy cravings, even if they are only puny little things. I LOVE cadburys chocolate!

Annoying though, why don't shops always advertise their offers - makes no sense?

Edited to add..............30p spent - now have 4p left until payday on friday - total spend so far, £6.46 out of £5.00!

    Morning all,

Yesterday I spent £1.85 on posting a book sold on greenmetropolis and 47p on a Ripple. Other spends on food and toieltries but these come out of other budgets.
