The only reason they gave you today was that your credit history was bad?
The balance transferred onto the new card is showing as cleared and not outstanding as well?
I would be tempted to take your copies of the credit reports into branch and get someone to explain to you what their issue is.
C&G/Lloyds all the same company.
I would take your credit report in and ask them to explain, maybe when they input your details for the search they have mistyped an address or something and then that will throw the system as it will come back as no information on you etc, it happens!I am a Mortgage Adviser

Cancel unused credit cards, debts and accounts.
Access to too much credit, even if it isn't used, can be a problem. If you have a range of unused credit cards, cancel most of them; this lowers your available credit and should help (see the Cancel Old Cards article for full info on what to close when).
However long standing bank accounts with good credit histories can be a benefit to your credit score, so they're often best left open.

Many thanks, I will definitely do that. They have referred it to the underwriters as i made such a fuss but said one missed payment was not good enough and we would struggle to get a mortgage from anyone. They checked LTV and affordability and said that was all fine. It was purely on credit rating. They rated it 1-4 (1 being the highest) and we had come back a 4!!
I will go into branch with the reports and see what they say!
Thanks for all help everyone.0 -
Thanks also Fraudbuster - there are a couple of cards I have showing as 0 (which I had paid off and assumed I had cancelled) so will make sure these are cancelled as well. ;-)0
