Hello! :j
My next door neighbour has a lovely apple tree and it is full of apples. Every year, they fall from the tree and are left year. I can see lots of them there now, lovely and red, and I'm wondering if I can use them in anything. I'll ask the neighbour, and even offer to give her some, she's lovely and I'm sure there'd be no problem.
I'm not a fantastic cook, and can't think of anything other than apple pie. I've been wanting to give preserves a go recently, and don't know if I can have a practise on these, or if I'd need to buy any special kitchen items to make them with. I'm also not sure when the apples are ripe and best to pick and use.
Would love to hear any suggestions you may have

Yes, here it is again!
Ok hon, this is an easy and quick and really delicious family recipe that you can serve hot or cold and works with almost any type of apple.
Aunt Sallys Apple Cake
Just click on the name above and it will take you to the recipe.
Other than that; apple and blackberry crumble, apple and sultana tray bake, baked apples with fruit and custard, apple sauce, warm in pancakes or on ice-cream.. You can freeze it too once pureed!
Enjoy the free fruit, as I am sure your neighbour will be happy to share if you take a cake or something over to her once baked!
