some will ask "if you've ever been bankrupt" plus the terms of bankruptcy do state you will have to declare your bankruptcy state if you are getting credit over £500......you will just have to shop around really there are a few firms that will help....co-op is a start along with royal sun alliance to name a coupleWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Hi ab634,
We went bankrupt in March - stayed with same company for car insurance so they wouldn't do a credit check (!) and they let me pay monthly. When my account was frozen I rang to say changing bank accounts and could I forward a cheque - they were happy to wait til I had sorted new account - and then took two months worth when next due. However someone on here had highlighted best to let them know, cos if they find out they could say your insurance wasn't valid. I rang my company - direct line and they said it wasn't an issue. From what I can remember some people have had car insurance declined cos of bankruptcy - others haven't. Best to let the company now and let them decide.
Hope that helps - and I am sure others will be along to say which companies they have been accepted by.0 -
Thanks for that I am with direct line, with 10 years no claims :-)0

true quinn direct - not sure what they are like on bankrupts but they allow 14 days for the deposit to be paid0

I was declared bankrupt five months ago. I have a car worth about £200 and my wife and i have no claims or accidents and 10yrs no claims. Last year the insurance was £265 fully comp. Quinn direct have just quoted me £1400 for third party. I've had two more quotes over the £1000 mark. You just cannot tell me that this is not solely because of my bankruptcy.0

gosh..we've had a Lazarus moment....
Looks like NCD hasn't been taken into account? No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
I went with co-op and have found them to be excellent, less than previous insurers and they let me pay monthly.0
