What about...
a box of essentials
Coffee, tea, biscuits, loo roll, kitchen roll, some cleaning sprays, free lightbulbs etc...
Or
a picnic tea for the first night
With blanket, paper plates and some picnic bites, save them cooking and cleaning up
Having just moved(not my first house either) either of these would have been fab, although the bottles of wine we got didn't go a miss either LOL

Bottle of wine and some chocs.
Flowers.
Photo frame.
Jar of homemade biscuits.
A doormat (can get witty ones).
A basket/hamper of food/drink bits.
A plant
Any good? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Our 2 favorite on moving to out house was a wok set and a massive wooden chopping board.0

when we moved we couldn't find the corkscrew - so either a bottle of wine + corkscrew - or a bottle that doesn't need one - fizzy/screw top!
moving hamper sounds a good idea.....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
We moved recently - i would have been so greatful if someone gave me a box full of essentials like tea, coffee, milk, sugar as we couldnt find them amonst all the boxes, plus when it came to finally sitting down at night it would have been really nice to have a bottle of wine but we couldnt be bothered to rumage for the wine glasses, so if you give a bottle of wine please remember glasses - even if they are plastic ones.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0
