Mobile phone exchanges / returns

I need to exchange a mobile phone which has a large scuff mark on the screen and a battery cover that just will not fit!

Can mobiles be exchanged at any store or does it have to be the one it was 'inspected' at?

it can be done at any argos store (as long as u still have proof of purchase). and just in case you dont know, if you've had it over a month it will go off for repair rather than them just replace it for you.

I've had it for under 7 days, just want a replacement rather than a refund which always seems much easier in Argos than getting a refund...

As long as there is a clear manufacturing defect with it then getting a replacement of the same phone in such a short space of time should not be a problem. As you say the battery cover does not fit, that could be argued as a clear manufacturing fault but if it was merely because of the scuff mark on the screen then I doubt very much they would change it.
