Transfering uni's

I am currently at Southampton Solent University doing a law degree. Now the university itself is ok and so is the teaching (but could do better). It's just the discipline of the students. When we have lectures people arrive in late or just leave early if they get bord. This is the thing that really just get me.
Now I don't know if you saw it but my university was on the TV recently. It was a under-cover op on the teaching and marking standards. This has not helped me at all. So I am looking to transfer to Southampton University. This is not just because of how I fell about my university. Southampton Uni is in the top 10 uni's for law so that is good for prospective work placments.
I just what to know if this is possible. What would I need to do. I have been told by a friend that they would take into account your exam results. Is this true? Any help would be great.

You can transfer, but there are a few things to take into consideration. You need a place at the new uni and to see if they will accept you into the 2nd year. If not, you may need to repeat your first year and you will need to ask your LEA if they will support you to do that. You will also need to check with the new uni what level of fees they will charge you. Go and see your students union advice centre for more info."Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0

I transferred between universities after my First Year. I approached the university that I wanted to go to and they specified the minimum results that I needed to get in my First Year exams.
I just had to send them proof of my results and notify the LEA of the transfer. It was relatively easy and I'm surprised that more people don't transfer rather than dropping out altogether and starting a new course from scratch.
I also managed to get university accommodation for my Second Year as well which was a bonus and meant that I made a few more friends because, obviously, joining a course midway through can be difficult in that respect.
Good luck.0 -
i think you need to be aware that there are lazy and rude students at every university. please don't think that by changing you are going to get away from the annoyances of people interrupting / leaving / chatting through lectures. might be worth a try though!0
