Deferred Pension Problem.

My husband had a small deferred pension, due in 3 years time at retirement age.
However, this scheme has been wound up and in reply to any queries the response is that they are in talks with the government.....
I would appreciate if anyone on your forum could update us on this, as we are now living abroad and although it is a small pension , it is important to him nonetheless. Is there anything he can do to speed up matters?
Thanks for any info.
