Good luck, assuming its your first trip to court, I will guess your next post will read:

OMG, that was so easy, not grilling from a judge and nobody took any notice of us! How simple was that!!

    Good luck!

It amazed me how easy it was, the building up and dealing with the debt before is the hard bit! Facing up to it even harder!

  • I Am Back ....... !! Yipeeeeeeee

    I WILL sleep tonight
    I WILL not worry
I WILL be looking forward and not to the past :j

Okay the court, I got there went to the counter was fourth on the list of about 10 the clerk ticked my name on the list and I then had to wait to be called again to the counter to pay my fee and have my forms checked.
A few questions about previous addresses and were the cards Visa or MasterCard and that was it. I was handed a couple of pages back to sign and date and then passed the Bible to do the oath. After that I was told to come back at 11.30 (about an hour and half), she did not think I would need to see the judge I would be told when I come back.

So off for a coffee, and a moment of reflection before returning to the court some more waiting, (there were more of us now, guess all of us waiting for the paperwork to comeback) after some more waiting we were called one by one to the counter. When my turn came, she said there are your forms, your ref: number you will be called by the OR later today. Thank you.... that was it!! I asked do I need to see the judge. Nope all signed you are BR as of 11:18 and there is your number.

That was it, yep that was it.... gosh i have worried and fretted and worried some more, feelings of guilt and shame but in the end, they have seen it all before and worse and was just another day in the office.

Just had my call from the OR, very friendly and polite. Checked my name, address, explained that i must not use my accounts or pay anyone. Asked if I was getting telephone calls from the creditors, I said lots so he suggested I send a template letter to them with a copy of my order.

Said he will send a large envelope, and I need to send all my statements to him (hope it’s really large!), I had a few shares he wanted details of these. We confirmed a date for the next interview (in a week’s time).

That was it, he asked if I had any questions so I asked "what sort of question will I be answering next time" he said it will be going through the financial records I send him, such as when did I last use the cards, what for etc.

Under the circumstances it was all very cordial, the process was straight forward, I have read it on here so many times but it is not what you imagine. I am so looking forward to sleeping tonight I am emotionally drained I am so looking forward to moving on with life. I am now dealing with and sorting things out I am sure there will be lots of questions and ups and downs along the way but there is light at the end of that tunnel and with the help and support I have from these forums it doesn’t seem all that bad.

I hope this helps others that are considering or have a court date coming up.

Thank you THANK YOU ...... all soooooo very much for guiding me and supporting me through this stage. Been said on here many times before but will say it also I only wish i had done it before rather than putting my head in the sand not facing up to the reality of the situation. I needed help but also needed to help myself first.
