Can I claim for misselling if I've already surrendered the endowment?

I was sold an endowment in 1990. In retrospect I'm pretty sure I was missold given my circumstances at the time, but when I made initial enquiries about claiming (in approx 1998/9) the provider was not helpful and told me firmly I wasn't entitled to anything. I believed this and don't think I have records of the conversations from then. In 2000 I decided the investment wasn't worth keeping and cashed it in. Am I entitled to claim, or is it too late? (I suspect much of the paperwork has gone astray too, as I've moved house/country so many times over the years - oops). If I can't, so be it, but if I don't ask the question it'll bother me forever! Thanks for any advice

You can claim, but compensation (if any) will only be paid up to the date of surrender. This might mean you aren't due any redress money, as the majority of the losses on endowments are related to the stockmarket crash in 2001-03, which was after you cashed in the policy.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
