I found that T-mobile coverage is non existent in some parts of NI0

Oh I get great coverage - ON SOUTHERN RECEIVERS so pay flamin roaming charges the minute Im anywhere near Coleraine /Portrush0

Because T-mobile reception is poor in these areas your phone is roaming to a stronger signal, it's set to 'operator selection' automatic
To stop it doing this set your Network in phone settings to Manual (T mobile UK)0 -

Portrush is only about 12 miles from Co Donegal as the crow flies across the sea(North Channel). That's the reason its picking up a stronger Eire single than the o2 mast in Coleraine which can be obstructed by hills, buildings etc

Apparently it happens to the peeps who live in Dover - they pick up the French signal as well
To answer the OP, if you need your phone and travel around alot - then T mobile isnt the best for coverage. I now always carry two phones and use two networks as so many places are dead zones for one network of other0 -

I'm in Ballyclare too but couldn't get any signal for more than a few seconds at a time on the t-mobile phone I bought for £4 in Asda for my son. No wonder they were selling them so cheap.
Ended up giving it to my Father-in-Law who lives in North Belfast for his Birthday and the signal is excellent there. Thats £2 more than we normally spend on him:rotfl:How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?0 -

Bet he just lives for you're annual birthday visit....:rotfl:though as they say.... it's the thought that counts... and no doubt you thought about it a lot!! :rotfl:0 -
you will find T mobile offers the cheap deals
but their signal coverage is probably the worst as regards the whole of N Ireland!0
