Electric razor advice, please!

I'm fed up with wasting time on my old wet-shaving routine. I couldn't use an electric razor in the old days as I just ended up with a red, sore face, and zits after a couple of days. However I hear that the whole scene has now changed and that the current generation actually do the business without mincing the old mug.
Has anyone got any pointers on which are the best electric razors and where to source them?
Thanks, guys (and gals?)

I saw a thread on another forum (digital forums) regarding razors and shaving a wek or so ago. you cant beat a wet shave for closeness but the best shave seems to come from the very expensive Braun electrics0

I Have been using a panasonic linear drive shaver - totally superb cut - sometimes actually feels closer than my Gillette vibrating wet shaver !! They're not cheap but totally worth the money

Hi, kind of going to revive this thread, rather than start a new one.
I am looking for a new electric razor (currently have a 2 head rotary one from philishave but it is getting old).
Right I know rotary vs foil is more a personal touch, but does anyone have any real preference and have changed from rotary to foil. As that is what I am thinking to do.
Also does anyone have any advice on a cheapish razor.
Also I have acne so does anyone have guidance over whether foil or rotary would be best for this? I think the rotary razor I have at the moment is not helping it but that may be the case with all razors. I have been advised wet shave would cause even more problems in ths regard.
So any advice on a razor greatly appreciated. Currently looking at options on boots - either there own brand or Braun Cruzer Solo0
