eco-friendly toilet roll

Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me what the eco-friendliest toilet roll is? I currently get Sainsbury's Revive but understand it actually isn't that eco-friendly, despite being recycled.
Thanks in advance

I just Googled some stuff pertaining to your question. Personally, we use either Nouvelle or Tesco's own recycled loo roll, whichever is in store when we shop. Both are very economical and more importantly, comfortable!:o:p;):D
Greenpeace did a chart of best loo rolls here:
http://www.greenpeace.org.uk/forests/tissue-guide?filter0=**ALL**&filter1=Toilet+tissue
BUT it should be noted that it was compiled in 2007. Both Tesco's and Nouvelle say their products are 100% recycled, so I am assuming that between 2007 and now they have made them more than the 50% recycled that Greenpeace have them listed as?? I would go with the manufacturer on this rather than GP.......
What is wrong with the Revive brand then?0 -
Even better, in large parts of Asia they have another system. That's why they don't eat with their left hand. The most eco-friendly system I've come across.0

Don't get Natural Collection own brand: despite ordering a whole box they sent some cheap brand all wrapped in plastic in fours. Sure it's got to be better to get Nouvelle in nine packs.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

My bum wipe is based on cost/ Tesco Economy at £1.26 for 12. And it is according to the sefl opinited peoples as not eco friendly.
But it is friendly on my wallet!0 -

I was annoyed by this... so ordered the Traidcraft 9 pack that was shown on Ethical Superstore as being paper wrapped, but that's plastic wrapped too (and even worse, some of the rolls had plastic in them, obviously where the paper was joined).
Ethical Consumer did a report in 2007 (click here), which probably needs to be updated, but I can't imagine things have changed that much...0 -
This is one thing which really annoys me. When you think about what toilet paper is actually used for, why isn't it ALL recycled? I can remember the very early recycled stuff back in the 80's was a bit rough & sandpapery, but that isn't the case now and when you stand in a supermarket in front of the huge loo roll display, you're lucky to get more than 1 (or 2 max) brands which are 100% recycled. I buy Co-op own brand 100% recycled. I did read somewhere that it is made from waste paper collected from their offices. Don't know if that's still the case. This is one thing consumers could impact immediately if everyone thought about it logically (i.e do new resources/trees need to be wasted just so I can wipe my a**e?) and switched over to recycled brands only. Would also mean there's a guaranteed market for wastepaper now that we are all separating out our household waste for council collection.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (20/100)

That report was why I opted for Natural Collection toilet paper!! I am going back to nine packs of ordinary recycled.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

i personally prefer the sainsburys basics to tesco value loo roll and will ask my mum to get me a large pack as she is there a couple of times a week!! i do my main shop at tescos as it nearer - i visit my mum most sundays and always keep a good stock of cheap loo roll but when i finish a pack (always have a spare) i get her to pick up one next time she is shopping and pay her when i see her at the weekend... i did not realise it was greener its just choice!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -

Same here... apparently it was updated last year, but there are a lot more brands now that weren't available when it was originally done, so weren't included. It's obviously time they redid it. And we should probably be writing to the suppliers and complaining... but I really can't be bothered!0
