Be very cautious, my hubs did similar as I earned much more than him so when we had DD he stayed as house-husband but also worked in a part-time capacity, this is where our troubles began.
CSA will probably initially assess you at nil CS1, but PWC can apply for departure re 50% allocation of housing to you partner, this may mean that you also only get 50% family and 50% child allowance as your partner can financially contribute.
In our scenario the PWC declared we had 'lifestyle inconsistent with declared income' she took us to Tribunal and lost her case, but the stress we were put through was horrendous. They may also see you as intentionally putting yourelf out of a job, so can be repercussions there, and of course if you ever do get taken to a Tribunal or Criminal Compliance get involved - dependent on how hell-bent the PWC is you WILL have to account for every household penny. The rule of thumb on the forum tends to be that when CSA ask about your partners earnings you are not forced to tell them, but they will assume things, and assess accordingly. So, beware.0 -
I'm not getting this story, by giving up work, you save £80 per week for your first two daughters. If you are struggling then, how will you not be struggling when you cease your income altogether and live on our new partners 'average' salary?
Wouldn't you be better off working?0
