Cheapest way to send parcels or box of goodies to family in New York state?

You might want to post this on the ebay board - there are people there who regularly parcels to the U.S. As a matter of interest - what goodies? You need to be careful sending food items to the states as certain things are prohibited.

Do you know anyone in the forces in the US or maybe the people your sending the parcel to does?
I had a cousin based in the US (he's in the RAF) and it is cheaper to send parcels to a military base than to a normal address.
If you know someone based out there it could well work out a lot cheaper to get the parcel to them and they can forward it to the address you want.0
