CDR'S AND DVD'S FOR NEC ND 3500

Hi

Got my Nec ND 3500... £46 delivered... fitted but these new flashy fast drives don't like cheap media it seems... so...

Anyone know reliable, compatible, CDRs and DVDRs that will work and that are cost effective.. ie the best price?! My last CD writer could take any old crap, of course i'd use something that'd last but this dvd writer seems more choosy... it only used half my verbatim datalifeplus DVDr's and won't use any of my datasafe cdr's!!! !!!!!!! i still have half a spindle...

might fit my old cd burner in the pc as well.. guess i'll need a new cable or two as well... ::)

  • forgot to say that i'm trying to use the latest nero with these discs! i burned a few dvd's with dvddecrypter which seem fine, but another few didn't work... there are some good guides if you at dvdresource.org but i know some of you got the same drive up and running and i'm interested in what works for you... i run xp by the way, sp1.

    Hi
    Got mine from ebuyer.
    Using Orange Bulkpaq 8x dvd-r.
    Which it burns at 12X

    Using both nero and dvdxcopy

Discs were only about £4.50 for 25, but watch p&p

    try blankdiscshop.co.uk they are great.

Personally i found the orange discs to copy no problems but had loads of picture problems on playback.

Ridisc {DV 3146} work like a dream and for 8* Datawrite Yellows although i havent used a lot of them yet!

ps my last batch of cdr's which were perfect with my old LG cd writer, were datasafe, i still have about 40 left, which don't work in my new fancy drive. shame that! i thought a new drive would cope with more than the old but it seems they are more particular. if anyone can recommend reliable cdrs for this drive then i'd be ;D

Just to add to the list:

I found that Mirror DVD+R worked fine as did Datawrite cdr's which burned at 48x. eProformance dvd-r however didn't work...

keep the list coming, i'm sure when people come back to work and come back online they can add to this...
