Can't decide

Hi...unfortunately my clio 182 has to go to be replaced with something with more room for load lugging.

We are liking the mpv style seating position + want reliability, good economy, decent tax band, and as new as poss on a circa £7.5k budget.

Initially nearly went for cmax 1.6 tdci 110ps (great economy + looks decent) but was slightly dubious if big enough....

..had my head turned by a corolla versos adaptable seating/size but economy looks relatively poor for petrol & diesel [at least according to the websites I came across]...the perceived Toyota reliabilty is attractive too.

looking at 12k-15k miles a year, mostly A road + town driving....

is there another model that I should consider on the budget that covers the best bits of both?....part of me thinks I should be considering estates and sacrfice the driving postion...maybe

thanks

Verso's are good, very good in fact. C Max - good but has to be a late one, about 06 onwards. Before that, they were known as the Cr4p Max. What about an S Max? Same applies, go for a late one - earlier ones were know as the !!!!!! Max........... these snippets of info I got from guys that worked at Afford stealerships....... not sure that it is true..... ;)

I had a corolla verso T2 diesel, good to drive, practical but a bit frumpy. My sister has a diesel zafira (older 54 reg model) and loves it, but a friend has a new shape zafira with 6spd box and has had nothing but trouble, first with the gearbox and now with the clutch!

OP said bigger than a clio, those are barely bigger than a tin can, the ford fusion is sh1te to say the least a tin can has better qualities
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

the fusion isn't sh1te, and yes the OP said they wanted bigger than a clio, which these cars are! Why be so negative they're only suggestions
