have £20 left before hols, should I have hair done or wax?

Going on holiday on Monday and am a little skint! Should I have my hair cut and blow dried, or my eyebrow and bikini wax done? Both will be about £20. I cant decide. Its such a hassle trying not to look like a haggard old bag! What can best be done at home, and what's best left to the professionals? and either of these would be a treat, I dont spend much on such frivolities :A

I can do my eyebrows myself obviously, but never as good as the salon does them. I can hack at my fringe myself too but cant do the layers like the hairdresser does.

Can you get a trainee to do your hair and then get the waxing done too?

    Enjoy your holiday!

It depends which you think would be more important. Personally, I'd have my hair cut, though I guess that's because I do my own waxing and I'm useless with my hair :p

Though my mum said she'd have the waxing done, especially if it's a beach holiday 'cos you can always pin your hair back (more I think about that, the more it makes sense, though I won't tell her that! :p)

Sorry, that's not much help at all :o

Have a nice holiday whatever you do :D

Nope can't do that - college has broken up now and the hair salon I go to is small and doesnt have any trainees. Do bikini waxing kits work? Or will I be left with a nasty lump of gunk on my bits that I am too scared to pull off?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Personally I'd wax at home and leave the hair and save the twenty ;) But it depends what sort of holidy it is.

If its beach holiday or somewhere very hot your hair might well suffer and , so maybe spend some of the money on a conditioning treatment or have your hair done when you come back: something to cheer you up returning to raining old Britain.

It's not that bad, the worst thing is anticipating the pain because you know when you're going to pull the strip off, rather than have someone do it for you (actually, is that an option for you ).

When you're pulling the strip off, pull it off parallel to the skin - don't pull it up the way because you could bruise yourself (and at the very least, it will hurt like a biatch :p) - if you're wary, do little strips at a time and always pull the skin as taut as you can.

Could you not shop around a bit and maybe get it a bit cheaper?
I know of a few hairdressers that do 'dry cuts' for £10 or under- if u had it washed an blow dryed would only last 2 days anyway. Then could maybe find a a salon that does waxing bit cheaper too.

lostinrates thats very sensible. And from the fuss I'm making you'd think I was going clubbin in Eyebeefa rather than a sedate family hol in a Spanish backwater!!!! Truth is wont the waxing at home hurt?

Yeah the dry cut idea is a good one, then just get the bikini wax done and do the eyebrows myself. I will lie and say I am in a tremendous rush as they are a bit !!!!!y in this salon and will no doubt slag me off for being a cheapskate. But who cares, she's a good cutter as my old mum says!

    It hurts anyway :p

I seriously can't have my ankles waxed, but have no bother with anything else. Was going to a wedding and decided to get someone else to do them (she left them sticky and half done, so no better than a home-job really!), she told me to shut up and stop being a baby! Blooming cheek  :o

But the truth is I do my own (hollywood :p) so it can't be that bad surely?!
