Incorrect Property Details

Hi there,
I'm posting this on behalf of my partner.
We have recently being trying to get his name removed from a current mortgage with his ex but in the process of this it has become apparent that some details on the mortgage agreement aren't correct.
The mortgage was bought as part of a shared ownership scheme with a 50% between them and the housing scheme...... now on the mortgage it states they had a 50% deposit and then own the other 50%.......this clearly isn't correct.
Also the mortgage states the property is a 2 bedroom flat when its actually a 2 bedroom end terraced house.
What kind of implications does this have on the current standing of this mortgage? Is it still a valid mortgage?
Also one more query....if you apply and get accepted for a mortgage in joint names would this show up on your credit history? As with my partner there is no sign of this mortgage in his credit history.
This has left us highly confused as we are struggling to remove him from the mortgage as it is.
If any one can help I would be extremely grateful

Why don't you ask your highly recommended mortgage adviser?0

I would recommend asking this lady, she is very good, specializes in shared ownership mortgages and responds to emails quickly:

Look people if you must know I have posed the question too her already but I was hoping other 'friendly' people might have experienced this and might be able to help out.
I just don't understand why people have such an issue with someone else trying to be helpful.
I haven't come on here to upset any one or tout for business. I have come here like most other people here have to try and resolve an issue I can't seem to work out on my own.0 -
Being serious now, why haven't you spoken to the adviser?0

You could give them a call and see where you stand legally in relation to the mortgage contract.
When you say that there is no history of the mortgage in your partners credit history has he put in all his previous addresses. If his name is on the mortgage then it should show up on the credit file, unless there is actually a wrong address on the mortgage contract as well??I am a Mortgage Adviser
