This is a fab thread so thank you.

Any ideas for the folk who are in a dmp or an iva where dates/companies names have faded years ago. I have had no contact with my creditors only the dmp company and many have been sold and resold. Where would I start with that, do I need to back track and try and write to the companies to establish when they started. I have an idea of the whys as to how the debts started of course, kids, no child care, some of it pure stupidity, there is no excuse for that so how do you explain excessive spending at certain times, not enough income etc etc I can explain that one, but dates are going to be pretty tough for me. I will defo use this thread as a guide though when I finally take the plunge.

    Thanks.

This post has really helped me when it came to writing my reasons for BR. Although I did get a little frustrated when I tried to state which debts paid off which previous debts. Do you really have to be that specific?
