Oh I am determined to be organised this year.
Can't wait for the links - I am going to try a nappy cake for a new family baby due in September. Everyone else will be buying toys so guessing a nappy cake will be more helpful for the parents.
I am intrigued by the snowman soup !!??
Going to sit down with a cup of coffee and look through all these ideas !!
T xx

Did you know there is a nappy cake thread on this board, may be helpful:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

This year I'm doing snowmen - covering empty pringles tubes with white felt, making hat from a sock (turning the foot part right inside and other sock rolled up to pad it out -so gift is also a pair of socks) then filling the tube with marshmallows or those white bon bon sweets -the idea being a snowman full of snowballs.
Done couple of old mayonnaise jars -one will have marshmallows in, the other some white bath bombs I've got.
I think everyone had a 'pot of gold' last year so this year they're having 'pots of snowballs' of one sort or another.
Rhyme:
In case we don't have a white christmas
(and let's face it we seldom do)
I'm sending you this pot of snowballs
To melt in the bath -just for you
or
In case it gets to christmas day
And we've had no snowfall
I'm sending you this little snowman
Full up with sweet snowballs
Also done a flannel snowman with soap inside and a sock hat.
Sorry can't remember the sites I got them from since I changed computer and only printed out the piccys and instructions for my folder.
'cobweb chaser' -basically a pretty gardening glove filled with cotton wool or some sort of stuffing and a pole through the bottom up to the middle finger. Tie ribbon round it and its a handy pressy for those hard to reach cobwebs. Found that on www.allfreecrafts.com
Last year I did a 'Stashpot'
Any glass jar..............loo roll middle placed in the centre on the inside, fill the jar with dried beans to hold it in place..........print out any kitchen type label and its a hideaway for spare key, emergency fiver, etc.
Rhyme on the gift tag: choice of two
SSShhh........
Don't spill the beans about this special space
And no one will find your secret hiding place
A jar of beans it looks to be
But look real close and you will see
A kitchen safe with a place inside
For little things you want to hide
Like sweets, or secrets, maybe cash
A nifty place to hide your stash!
Joke pills..............re-use old pill bottles, fill them with tic tacks or jelly beans and stick a joke label on.
(Types 'Joke pills' in site will come up)
If I can remember the websites I'll put them on,
Found one - http://www.allfreecrafts.com/christmas/coffee-creamer-snowman.shtml
Other snowman crafts on there.
Lots of jokey type stuff on here...........http://granny2shoes2.tripod.com/03gaggifts.htmlI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi guys, loving this thread and the many ideas, i did manage to do a fair few pots of gold last year for the grandkids teachers, friends etc etc, can i just ask, what poems did you all put on the pots of gold? TIAIt`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

Wrap a dishcloth and dish towel in a large and pretty box with this note attached:
This Christmas our ship has finally come in
We're feeling so wealthy and rich.
Instead of some small remembrance
This year will be quite a switch
We're giving a gift of high quality
No more cheap presents for us.
It's time we really went all out
But don't worry, its really no fuss.
We considered giving you a sports car
Or maybe a tropical cruise ---
But we decided to be more practical
And give something you really could use.
So, open the box and you may be surprised,
To find not ONE gift, but two
We hope you will put your presents to work
It's a WASHER & DRYER, too!!!!
Wisk Gift
1. Take a large wisk and fill it with little chocolates.
2. Wrap it all in cellophone and tie with fancy ribbon.
3. Make a cute little gift tag that says:
"We WISK you a Merry Christmas".
Love box
Make a lovely little box and and add a tag with a poem on there is nothing in the box
This is a very special gift that you can never see.
The reason it's so special is it comes to you from me.
Whenever you are lonely and feeling down and blue,
you only have to hold this gift and you know i think of you.
You never can unwrap it, please leave the ribbon tied.
Just hold the box close to your heart, its filled with love inside.
(all 3 above courtesy of giggle):A
Novelty toilet roll, wrap a toilet roll in some nice paper and attach a label with the following:
Money is scarce and times are hard,
So i'm giving you this instead of a card,
Christmas cards are a bit of a farce,
But this will be handy for wiping your.....NOSE!!!!
Pots of gold poem;
Here is a little pot of gold,
A festive nibble too.
We hope that it will make all
your christmas dreams come true.
Have a very merry christmas from all of Us to you, XXX
