Aren't L&C whole of market?! Well I am shocked - I thought they were?
They are whole of market under FSA definitions but that definition means that they use a large selection. It doesnt mean that they have to offer true whole of market. L&C state they only use commission payers. They do not include non commission payers. You would need to see an independent adviser who is true whole of market rather than a whole of market adviser.
Who is a whole of market broker then and also free!
    No-one with any sense.

What a load of cr*p! Ive worked for two of the largest firms in the UK, and have never witnessed management putting pressure on advisors to chose one lender over another, due to contract issues. Just as with the smaller firms, the so called 'big firms' rely on good service otherwise their business model fails just like anyone else.

dont normally like to rant.... but had no cereal this morning!

I can only speak from personal experience:o

had people call me - after being quoted A&L ( so called exclusive ) by certain big brokerages / call centres - when Brit Bs had a massively better deal on offer ( direct- no commission) .

so an exclusive was being pushed over a better rate - to me tahts look like targets to be hit...... of course that was in the days when lenders had targets for new business
