Good article from the Telegraph. Mind you the writer works for Fidelity, so any money you were considering putting into property, he would prefer if you invested in S&S, preferrably with Fidelity.;)

In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Personality type: Compassionate Male Armadillo. Sockies: None.0 -

Was expecting to hear the same reasons the market would fall as has been said by many a bear however it is nice to get articles like this back into mainstream news. Good stuff and refreshing - rather than the tat there has been in the media recently.0 -
remember those days? never ever would they crash....but they did and many people got burned big time.........ring any bells? It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Like economists, these people are far removed from the front line and always watching the rear view mirror rather than the road. Clueless as a WW1 General directing the campaign from the comfort of a Chateaux.
I had an argument with some one quite high in Standard Life fund managment back in 2006 on my theory a crash was about to ensue. He clearly thought me mad.0 -

Only idiots think house prices NEVER drop, it's a cyclical market, same applies to those that think they will never go up again. I am truly amazed at how stupid people can be that think nothing ever changesChuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Yes, managed to liquidate just in time. Watched as the bulls refused to deal with the reality that a carpet company turned into an "dotcom investment cash shell" wasn't properly priced on a PE of 100. My one regret is not shorting :rolleyes:0 -
Good article. With a sensible view. What's the next boom going to be in?0
