My husband to be makes decoupage cards, can pick up the sheets for about 50p. Comes in handy as we have a lot of birthdays during the year, also sell some of them to our friends and relatives.
I am currently in the process of making my own wedding invitations0 -
Ooh that sounds lovely...........I love a bit of countryside......although whether or not I'd actually feel safe walking in it nowadays is another matter..........
When I was a kid....and my dad was driving us back home from Liverpool...via countryside...........we would nearly always 'break down'..........because of the witches in the woods you know...my brothers thought this was really funny....
My dad would get everyone to get out and push the car........brothers thought I'd get really scared..........I was like 'oh for god's sake I want to get home and go to bed.....get a move on!!
I think they got bored soon after!

I love cross stitching, again i still have a lot of supplies left from pre MSE days, but when i get low on these i will keep a sharp eye out for cheap supplies in the sales.
I find this hobby has some great benefits, not only does the time fly by but you can't eat whilst doing it so that has made me cut right back on snacks which is good for both my budget and weight.
Also great as gifts, i have loads of free kits from the many magazines i used to buy and now i just pull one out and within a day or two its finished, frame it with a cheap frame from charity shops or the really cheap shops and its good to go.
I have also recently started stitching squares for love quilts which means i can spend time doing a hobby and then know that when its finished it will be used to make a quilt for some child who really needs one for what ever reason, its my way of still giving when i can't afford to do so with money. Plus stitching those squares helps to remind me that no matter how down i am or how hard i am finding it others are also struggling and that some things are just more important than money.
At the moment i am also starting on some scrapbooks, can be really cheap to do because the most important things for them, your pictures, you already have. I have found one of the hardest things i am having to cut right back on in travelling, so i am putting together scrapbooks of all the great things we have done as a family and all the places i have visited to both remind myself and motivate me.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. OH and I like to go walking either along the beach or in the country too. Its really good to just chat and walk at the same time and get some fresh air.
Another hobby which is free is tracing family trees, we just pop down to our local archives and get on with the research there and it costs nothing, sounds a bit dull, but it is strangely addictive....then we find out where our ancestors lived and explore their villages and find the houses they used to live in.
In September, I'm planning to sign up for some more courses in the local college....would like to do Italian conversation and a cookery course.....it costs £30 for the year regardless of how many courses you sign up to. Bargain!!
Instead of going to the pub, we sometimes have friends over, have a few drinks and home made pizza...sing some Kareoke and have Playstation game competitions. Hopefully do a lot more of that to save a bit of cash.0
